1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to StartupMeu’s website, accounts, business and investor profiles, discovery tools, connection features, billing pages, support channels, and related services (the “Services”). “StartupMeu,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Wardiere Technologies.
StartupMeu is a global marketplace where businesses seeking capital can be discovered by potential investors, and the parties can express interest and connect directly. This policy describes the information needed to provide those features. It does not describe a third-party site or service linked from StartupMeu; those services have their own privacy notices.
2. Information we collect
The information collected will depend on the features you use. The planned categories include:
- Account and contact details: name, email address, password credentials, phone number, country, verification status, account type, and preferences.
- Business and founder profile details: company name, website, location, industry, business description, logo, founder or representative biography, role, work history, education, and links you choose to provide.
- Funding profile information: funding goal and currency, funding purpose, stage, revenue range, prior funding, deadline, investor preferences, and other details you submit.
- Investor profile and preferences: investor type, biography, geography, industries, stages, typical investment range, experience, portfolio details, and types of support you may offer.
- Content and documents: pitch decks, presentations, videos, financial summaries, messages or notes submitted with an interest request, reports, and support requests. Do not upload information you are not authorized to share.
- Marketplace activity: searches, filters, profile views, saved businesses, interests sent or received, connection decisions, listing status, notification interactions, and subscription activity.
- Billing information: subscription plan, coupon redemption, payment status, invoices, and limited payment-method details returned by our payment processor. Full card numbers are intended to be handled by the payment provider, not stored by StartupMeu.
- Technical and usage information: IP address, device and browser information, log events, approximate location derived from IP, referral information, and cookie or similar-technology data, subject to your choices and applicable law.
- Support, safety, and verification information: correspondence, abuse reports, evidence you submit, verification records, moderation decisions, and relevant audit logs.
Some profile details may be public because you choose to publish them. Document access should follow the visibility setting shown when you upload or share each document.
3. How we use information
We plan to use information to:
- create and secure accounts and provide the Services;
- publish, display, search, filter, and recommend relevant marketplace listings based on user-selected criteria;
- route interest requests, manage connection statuses, and send service notifications;
- process subscriptions, coupons, promotional access, payments, invoices, cancellations, and support requests;
- moderate listings and activity, review reports, prevent fraud or abuse, enforce our terms, and protect users and the Services;
- understand marketplace performance, improve usability, troubleshoot errors, and maintain platform security;
- send product, billing, security, and policy notices, and—where permitted and with required consent—optional marketing messages;
- comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we will identify the relevant basis for each purpose in the final policy. Depending on the activity and jurisdiction, this may include providing a requested service, complying with legal obligations, legitimate interests balanced against your rights, or consent that you can withdraw.
5. Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of certain information; to object to or restrict some processing; to withdraw consent; or to complain to a privacy regulator. For individuals in India, Wardiere Technologies will follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its Rules to the extent the relevant provisions are in force and apply to the Services. You may also manage profile visibility, documents, notifications, and certain account information from your account when those controls are available. 6. Retention and security
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including to operate accounts and listings, maintain subscription and transaction records, resolve disputes, enforce terms, meet legal obligations, and protect the Services. The actual retention schedule will be documented before launch. When information is no longer needed, we plan to delete it, anonymize it, or securely isolate it where appropriate.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a security incident occurs, we will investigate and provide notices required by applicable law.
7. International use and transfers
StartupMeu is intended to serve users in multiple countries. Information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live, including countries where StartupMeu or its service providers operate. Where required, we will use an approved transfer mechanism and provide information about relevant safeguards. The final policy will name the operator, relevant processing locations, and available transfer safeguards.
8. Children
The Services are intended for adults acting in a business or investment capacity and are not directed to children. Do not create an account if you are under 18 or the age of majority where you live. If we learn that we collected a child’s information contrary to applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Services or legal requirements change. We will update the effective date and, where required, provide additional notice or obtain consent. Material changes will not be applied retroactively where prohibited by law.
